You are definitely dealing with some pretty nasty things, Lyle. I do not watch TV very often (b/c I don't own one), but I have seen the Dirty Jobs show. I like it, and it is actually very informative and entertaining. The show did spend one episode with a man who turns WVO into biodiesel, and the host was definitely a fan of it. If he knew that you turn WVO, fish-goo, and plenty of other things into fuel, then perhaps they might devote another episode to the topic.

Hi Leif,

We are currently discussing the possibilities of starting up a small biodiesel processing and distribution company on the island of curacao (Caribbean). I read your story and development of Piedmont Biodiesel corp. and it looks like a very examplary model to follow for a successful path to grow the business (we only have 150,000 people on the island, but we can serve as a model for the whole caribbean region). We are talking to the government to put the necessary legal framework in place to allow such development. We would like to have direct contact with you to discuss our plans and how you can help us and the government to realize this plan. Please let me know if you are interested to do so. Regards. Reggie Carolina

Hi Lyle,
I could nor find a link to send you an email directly.
I think we met after a talk at Malaprops in Asheville NC.
I need to get my hands on an ounce or 2 of grape seeds. For a toy I am developing.
Perhaps you could help me locate some.
Thanks
Ken

Ray, I appreciate what you are doing here. While I took a different path, I feel as though I am heading to where you are. My Grandfather,Jessie Ricks, drove a hybrid over 100 hundred years ago. He was the Fireman on the first train, to go from Conway to Myrtle Beach, in 1900. Later on he was the Engineer. The train, The Black Mariah, ran on coal and native wood. It never ceases to amaze me, that people think the Honda Insight or the Toyota Prius, were the first hybrids. Most "Mainstream" people are not even aware that the grid connected, steam produced electricity is made possible by coal carried by trains that run on DC electricity generated by diesel fuel. FORGET about ethanol polluted gasoline. Diesel is where its at. Cetane over octane everytime. Well, I have digressed to preaching to the choir. I will contact your orginization and find out how I can get this goining in Horry County. Thanks, Buck

Good deal. I'd also add that depending upon location there is a federal and state sales tax included in the $3.50 price per gallon. Here in Louisiana they still tax the biodiesel on the state level... some states have removed the additional state tax to help out the small backyard biodiesel brewers.
